Xbox Game Pass Confirms 8 More Games for October 2024 (2025)

Xbox Game Pass has confirmed eight more titles, including South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Ashen, for October 2024. Nearly half of these newly listed releases will be available to Xbox Game Pass Standard users, while the rest will require a higher-tier membership.

Microsoft's subscription service started October 2024 on a quiet note, releasing only four new games in the first half of the month. The most recent of these additions happened on October 10, when the critically acclaimed deck-building roguelike Inscryption made its way to Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft is now looking to pick up pace in the second half of October 2024, having just confirmed eight more Xbox Game Pass arrivals for the next two weeks. The second wave of the company's monthly releases includes South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Donut County, MechWarrior 5: Clans, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, CoD: Warzone, and Ashen. Additionally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will receive Xbox Cloud Gaming support soon, whereas Dead Island 2 will be made available to PC Game Pass subscribers at the tail end of the month. Dead Island 2 has been part of the Xbox Game Pass library since February 2024, but was only available to cloud and console users due to a temporary PC exclusivity deal with Epic.

Xbox Game Pass October 2024 Games Release Calendar

The first of these newly confirmed releases that will reach Xbox Game Pass is South Park: The Fractured but Whole, which is scheduled to debut on October 16. This will be the first-ever South Park game to make its way to Microsoft's subscription service. The Fractured but Whole will be followed by popular indie puzzler Donut County and action game MechWarrior 5: Clans, both of which are set to arrive a day later.

MechWarrior 5 is one of two day-one releases that are bound for Xbox Game Pass in the second half of the month. The other one is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which Microsoft already confirmed will reach its subscription catalog on October 25. That's also the day when Modern Warfare 3 will receive Xbox Cloud Gaming support, which will arrive alongside the cloud version of Call of Duty: Warzone. Soulslike Ashen is then scheduled to reach the service on October 29, two days before the PC version of Dead Island 2 does the same.

Xbox Game Pass on Course to Remove More Games Than It Adds in October 2024

Although the October 2024 Wave 2 lineup incorporates roughly twice as many titles as its Wave 1 counterpart, this month is still going to be a small net loss for Xbox Game Pass. When not accounting for new versions of already available games, the service has so far received or confirmed to be releasing only nine new titles in October 2024. Meanwhile, it's set to lose five games later today, followed by another five departures on October 31.
